Nathaniel Whaley brings a strong foundation in construction, renovation, and site maintenance to his role as Maintenance Operations Manager for Dragonfly Pond Works’ Wilmington branch. A lifelong resident of coastal North Carolina, Nathaniel joined Dragonfly as an intern while attending NC State University and quickly found his passion in stormwater management. After completing his internship, he transitioned to a full-time role and worked his way up through the ranks, gaining extensive experience in fountain operations and stormwater device maintenance.
Nathaniel holds an associate degree in Arts, Engineering, and Science from Brunswick Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Technology & Management from NC State, where he was a Goodnight Scholar. He also holds numerous certifications, including OSHA 10hr and 40hr HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, SCM/BMP I&M, and commercial applicator licenses in both NC and SC.
Nathaniel is driven by the opportunity to learn and apply new solutions that improve stormwater management. He takes pride in his team's work, especially during hurricane season, when healthy, functioning systems have a direct environmental impact. His adaptability and commitment to meaningful results make him a strong leader within the Wilmington branch.
