Jordan Lake Trash Removal by Team Dragonfly

Dragonfly Pond Works is proud to be part of the Clean Jordan Lake Adopt-A-Shoreline program. Jordan Lake has 180 miles of shoreline and unfortunately numerous sections are regularly littered with trash. The program is designed for groups, clubs, and businesses to remove litter from their assigned shoreline several times a year.

Recently, several Triangle Team Members volunteered to complete one of our afternoons of Jordan Lake trash removal. The crew removed 12 bags of trash and 75 propane canisters! Unfortunately, there is consistently a high number of propane canisters littering the shoreline, primarily below a bridge.

Jordan Lake provides drinking water for many Triangle area residents, recreation opportunities, and wildlife habitats. Regular removal of Jordan Lake trash is imperative to the health of this beautiful space.
