What's Happening in Wilmington

The coastal branch in Wilmington, NC was awarded a dredging contract at the Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority's Sweeney Treatment Plant location in May and work was completed in June.  Our project team was comprised of Scott and Josh. The project consisted of excavating 5 dry ponds that have filled in with silt.  After a brief check-in with the client, they hit the ground running.  Excavations began with removing one foot of depth from each of the 5 separate dry ponds located at the facility.

We utilized light machinery, manual labor, and dump trucks to remove the spoil and transport off-site.  After dredging was complete, we regraded the inner basins of the dry ponds and sodded with 2000 square yards of Centipede grass.  To ensure the grass thrived, we assisted the grounds-keeping crew with setting up temporary watering mechanisms to allow proper growth of the newly planted sod.

Cape Fear Public Utilities in Wilmington, North Carolina now has a retention ponds that are fully compliant, safe and attractive!
